SCM External Regulatory Compliance Project Manager

We are seeking a proactive, resilient, and seasoned regulatory compliance expert who is committed to delivering high-impact work. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach, ensuring efficiency and consistency in our processes, and will be adept at identifying and capitalizing on opportunities for process enhancement. This role demands a high-energy individual with the capability to function in a global context, effectively collaborating with diverse stakeholders and adeptly handling both strategic and operational tasks to drive success.

This role reports directly to the Head of Change Management and Continuous Improvement, located in Zurich, Switzerland. As an integral member of our international SCM Regulatory Compliance Team, you will engage with colleagues across various regions to foster a cohesive compliance strategy.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Formulate clear policies that are in harmony with both organizational objectives and regulatory mandates.

  • Support Regulatory Compliance Manager and key stakeholders in ensuring all requirement information (e.g., data requirements) are available to fulfill each regulatory reporting requirement.

  • Assist the regulatory compliance team in defining comprehensive project plans and oversee the progression of all compliance-related projects.

  • Enhance existing supplier monitoring framework to ensure supplier adherence to both regulations and organizational standards, thereby supporting local country teams.

  • Employ tools and methodologies that optimize the gathering and dissemination of regulatory information. Consider integration of new technologies for enhanced reporting capabilities.

  • Identify and automate repetitive tasks within the reporting workflow to minimize manual labor and reduce error potential.

  • Develop a uniform audit procedure that guarantees the accuracy and completeness of supplier questionnaire responses, potentially incorporating a scoring system or verification protocol.

  • Oversee both internal and external audits to confirm adherence to regulatory standards and internal guidelines.

  • Maintain Regulatory Compliance SharePoint to ensure information is updated for stakeholders and safeguard audit-related documents, streamlining retrieval and compliance management.

  • Continually update the organization on new processes and tools via regular training sessions or established channels ensuring comprehensive knowledge and proficiency.

  • Consistently communicate regulatory compliance updates to the SCM Council and other relevant stakeholders, emphasizing developmental milestones and achievements and using defined standard template.

  • Efficiently manage the SCM regulatory compliance group email and provide prompt and accurate responses to user queries.

  • Lead as Business Owner to spearhead initiatives that introduce new functionalities to our existing tools and solutions.

  • Support Master data related projects in close collaboration with Continuous Improvement Lead ensuring improvement in data quality.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business or engineering.

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with knowledge of ESG compliance/Sustainability in the technology sector.  Hitachi Energy BU experience is a plus.

  • Subject matter expert in a variety of ESG compliance topics.

  • Experience with completing time sensitive analysis of compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions and countries.

  • Strong English communication skills (verbal & written)

  • Highly detailed oriented and organized.

  • Must be a self-starter with a high level of accountability/ownership and a team player with a positive can-do attitude

  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required, as well as the ability to communicate and influence across all levels of the global organization. 

  • Knowledge of other languages is a plus.
