You will be the senior expert in questions and global solutions findings in the area of Chemicals Management & Compliance. You will ensure Leadership and Governance for the following subject matter topics: Controlled Products & Dangerous Goods (CP & DG); Product Stewardship, GHS and SDS (PS), Warehouse, Emergency and Transport Security (WETS); Poison Centre (PC); Product Labels and Hazard Communication. Moreover you will build stakeholders relationship and collaborate with main functions such as Commercial, S&T, Creation & Application, Regulatory, Trade Affairs, Procurement, Operations and Corporate Ethics and Compliance Office.

You will lead Chemicals Management & Compliance organisation and ensure career development of the team members, across Global regions covering both divisions Taste & Wellbeing and Fragrances & Beauty. 

You will report directly to the Head of Global EHS CoE. This position can be based in Kemptthal (Switzerland) or Vernier (Switzerland).

You will:

Strategy Development:

  • Assess current state and the requirements of the Chemicals Management & Compliance subject matter topics within Givaudan and develop a comprehensive global strategy
  • Be accountable for all deliverables defined by our organization and EHS strategy

Lead Chemicals Management & Compliance subject matter topics:

  • Advise management on Chemicals Management & Compliance subject matter topics compliance regulatory developments relevant to occupational health & safety, environmental and transport
  • Manage and filter escalated product issues management
  • Ensure compliant product information, Identification and assessment of all potential hazards and assessment of hazard communication in compliance with existing legislation, corporate and industry guidelines
  • Coordinate and implement global, regional and site resources in the implementation on Chemicals Management & Compliance subject matter topics policies and guidelines

Represent Givaudan interests in the area of the Chemicals Management & Compliance:

  • Ensure a Governance for EHS CoE Chemicals Management & Compliance engaging partners
  • Preinform about important changes of legal requirements, implementation, control and compliance with changing legislation on a global basis

You have:

  • University degree in chemistry / biochemistry / food chemistry or equivalent
  • 10+ years of international experience in the area of expertise
  • Business fluent in English, other language as French or German is an advantage
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in a global matrix organization
  • Technical background in the relevant field: (Controlled Products & Dangerous Goods (CP & DG); Product Stewardship, GHS and SDS (PS), Warehouse, Emergency and Transport Security (WETS); Poison Centre Notification (PC); GHS and DG information on the Labels and Hazard Communication)
  • Expert in building relationship with multiple partners globally
  • Understanding of internal/external factors affecting Givaudan and its customers and industry benchmarks for quality, performance and reliability on the CoE subject matter
  • Expert in translating vision into action
