Event Operations Manager
If you're looking for a chance to make your mark in the world of sport and entertainment , and meet the skills and requirements below, be sure to apply as we’re now actively seeking a dynamic and rigorous Event Operations Manager reporting to the Head of Event Operations, who will play a key role in supporting the business growth of VW.
o Supporting all operational aspects of our competitions & tours with the focus on self - promoted events throughout the event cycle.
o Directing internal & external operations team in the development of new logistical, technical, and operational expertise.
o Assisting Head of Department with event budgeting, costs tracking and settlement of events.
o Assessing the operational requirements including CAD drawings, lighting, sound, video, infrastructure, broadcasting, logistics, accommodations, catering, hospitality of all events to ensure compatibility with the venues and to determine potential costs.
o Overseeing the onsite execution.
o Sourcing, contracting, and managing suppliers.
o Attending weekly operations meetings, site visits and event meetings as required
o Developing and maintaining VW and FIVB high standards with the focus on self-promoted events.
o Researching and creating a merchandising plan considering all operational and cross departmental implications.
o Developing and ensuring programs of health and safety, incident, and risk management.
o Ensuring all staff are aware of and are working in accordance with current company policy and procedures and relevant Health and Safety legislation.
o Leading, motivating, supporting, and directing staff for whom they are responsible for.
o Assisting with the recruitment and supervision of contracted event staff & crew.
o Supervising external operations project management team on all matters related to self-promoted events.
o Understand business strategy and identify implications for the People & Organization strategy with clearly defined implementation plan.
o Facilitate implementation of strategic projects through proper change management.
o Develop capability plans at a group, divisional, team and individual levels.
o Develop and lead external staff initiatives, such as event production competencies, entertainment, technical, knowledge transfer etc. to comply with our standards.
o Ensure seamless employee and manager experience through effective people processes across the full employee life cycle.
o Enable an atmosphere where entrepreneurial culture, values and behaviours are lived and breathed by all.
Skills & Requirements :
o Minimum 7 to 10 years of live event production on site execution experience with emphasis on entertainment.
o Experience as an event promoter with a 1 million plus budget management.
o Experience in managing a complex stakeholder system of at least 10 team members throughout the event cycle.
o Extensive knowledge of best practices for CAD drawings, lighting, sound, video, infrastructure, broadcasting, logistics, accommodations, catering, hospitality of all events.
o Ability to travel with valid passport.
