Competitor Safety Engineer Trainee (Geneva - Switzerland)
We are looking for a trainee available from September 2026 for a period of 6 to 12 months (mandatory internship agreement).
Within the Safety Equipment and Homologation group, the Competitor Safety Engineer Trainee focuses on supporting activities and projects related to the research, improvement and implementation of safety equipment for drivers and circuit safety equipment.
MISSIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide support to establish new safety standards, procedures and regulations, performing the relevant background research and literature review when necessary.
- Organizing and implementing the support document for the creation or modification of FIA Standards related to Safety and Circuit equipment
- Create draft version of new / updated FIA Standards related to Safety and Circuit equipment following the instruction received.
Support the development of prototypes hand-in-hand with safety equipment manufacturers
- Transmit the instruction received to the Safety equipment manufacturer
- Regularly monitor and catch-up with the Safety equipment manufacturer
Provide assistance to the Competitor Safety Group
- Drafting safety standards and safety regulations
- Supporting the assignment of new homologations
- Preparation of post-homologation tests
- Reviewing homologation test reports
Preparation and attendance of meetings, either internal or external.
- Organizing and implementing the support document for the meeting preparation
- Organizing and creating the meeting summary document.
- Support FIA Industry Working Group workshops by drafting meeting documents.
PROFILE:
- Engineering student in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Textile Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Fluency in English, French is a Plus.
- Strong desire to understand and apply international technical standards in a practical context.
- Experience in Motorsport Federation activities is a plus.
- Familiarity with CAD software and coding languages are an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

The candidate must remain enrolled at a university for the entire duration of the internship and must be able to provide a mandatory internship agreement issued by their university.
