Your responsibilities

  • Champion Industry 4.0 initiatives by spearheading the integration of automated production cells and production equipment into the production control systems (SAP ME/ ABB Ability MoM) and production networks

  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Enterprise connectivity solution (ECS) Integration

  • Collaborate with MES and ECS teams to integrate automation solutions with our overall manufacturing operations, ensuring seamless data exchange and storage, operational efficiency, and the realization of Industry 4.0 benefits

  • Proactively drive the optimization of our production control systems to improve the overall operational efficiency

  • Collaborate with machine suppliers, internal teams, and external partners to develop and implement the control system architecture ensuring concepts align with Industry 4.0 principles, automation best practices and Hitachi Energy's overall manufacturing strategy

  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of master data for the different control systems

  • Create detailed Hitachi Energy's internal documentation, with attention to ease of use

  • Conduct training regarding several production-related systems and equipment

  • Drive the implementation of new advanced manufacturing technologies and deeply understand their impact on operational efficiency, data-driven decision-making, and Industry 4.0 transformation

Your background

  • An advanced degree in engineering, preferably in system engineering, information technologies or a related discipline, with a strong focus on advanced automation technologies and Industry 4.0 concepts

  • Demonstrated experience in manufacturing environment, with a proven track record of success in factory integration, including experience with smart factory technologies. Experience in Semiconductor Assembly or Testing is a plus

  • Proven experience dealing with modern production control system and legacy IS system

  • Ability to work within cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, and strong service focus

  • Experience with agile methodologies (SCRUM) is a plus

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues that arise during daily production quickly

  • Ability to adapt to rapidly evolving technologies, learn new concepts quickly, and integrate them effectively into automation projects

  • Fluency in English is required; German B1 desirable
