Senior DevOps and Cloud Engineer

Job Overview

The Senior DevOps and Cloud Engineer shapes the architecture of our DevOps platform and takes ownership for the automating our build, test and deployment process and for the end-to-end implementation of cloud services. He or she develops, implements, optimizes, and maintains cloud-based solutions in accordance with best practices and company security policies. The Senior DevOps and Cloud Engineer ensures the reliability and quality according of the overall solution according to SLOs.

Main Responsibilities


  • Design, develop, maintain and document an efficient CI/CD environment for our device and cloud services (code, build, test, deploy)

  • Design, coordinate and manage software configurations to deploy and operate cloud services as well as client facing software across different geographical regions

  • Take the ownership for work packages for the areas DevOps and cloud engineering along the entire software development lifecycle

  • Ensure the availability and responsiveness of our cloud services (deploy, operate, monitor) and foster DevOps principles

  • Provide expertise knowledge on processes, operation and monitoring of production deployments

  • Support with issue investigation and root cause analysis of defects discovered in deployments

  • Ensure the quality and traceability of implementations with documentation and design reviews according to medical devices standards and regulations

Skills and Qualification

Mandatory:


  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent education with work experience

  • 4+ years of experience with Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines and other Azure cloud services

  • Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes on Linux and Windows with databases such as PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, MS SQL, NoSQL

  • Strong experience with PowerShell, Bash and Git

  • Strong experience with agile software development with C#/.NET, testing tools such as NUnit, API design and software configuration management

  • Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure-as-a-code as well as operating and enhancing scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant distributed systems

Preferred:


  • Experience in medical devices industry

  • Experience working with the standards ISO 13485, IEC 62304, ISO 14971, GAMP 5, 21 CFR part 820, UL 2900, ISO 27001

  • Certifications for Azure cloud services

  • Knowledge of web security practices and DevSecOps concepts

  • Fluent English, German preferred
