As a first-tier supplier to our renowned business partner Roche Diagnostics in Rotkreuz, we are currently looking for a motivated and dedicated Research Assistant - Lab Technician for a temporary assignment of 2 years, with high probability of extension.
The Instrumental Analytics department is a key part of Reagent Research and Design. The company develops, validates, and implements a wide range of analytical methods using technologies such as Liquid Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, digital PCR, and FTIR microscopy. Alongside routine activities, Roche is involved in research projects where new approaches are explored and evaluated. A motivated Laboratory Technician (Research Assistant) is sought who enjoys working in a hands-on, multi-technology environment. In this role, the candidate will work with different analytical platforms and have the opportunity to broaden technical expertise across a variety of instruments. The successful applicant will be part of a collaborative team that values reliability, curiosity, and practical problem-solving.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Plan analysis with support from supervisory staff
- Prepare standards and samples
- Perform experiments on different instruments
- Data analysis with support from supervisory staff
- Document experiments
- Escalate issues when things are not going according to plan
- Recommend next steps based on data generated
- Drive efforts to gain efficiency within work packages
- Organize and manage own time within scope of assigned work packages
- Ordering and maintaining stocks of material
Must-Haves
- Completed education as Lab Technician (Analytical Chemistry/ Chemistry/ Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology) or a Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 2-3 years of work experience in a lab environment within academic research or industry (Pharma/MedTech)
- Initial experience with Liquid Chromatography
- Initial experience with PCR
- First experience in statistical data analysis and evaluation
- Fluent in English
- Strong interest in practical lab work
- Ability to think multidirectionally
- Team player
Nice-to-Haves
- GxP knowledge
- German language skills are a plus
