Junior electric engineer

Weatherbound® AG is a startup based in Zurich with the mission of developing smart irrigation and farm monitoring solutions to improve agriculture’s resilience. With an innovative integration of tradition and technology, our irrigation management system is non-disruptive and can be implemented without further infrastructure investment. We are looking for a person that will help our development team.

What you will do:

● Datalogger development: Review and optimize the design of environmental datalogger and weatherstations.

● Firmware: Program and maintain datalogger code (c++).

● Irrigation control engineering: Design control systems compatible with the proprietary platform and common setups (valves, electronic steering, flowmeters).

● Software integration: Ensure hardware works with backend; collaborate closely with software teams.

● Robustness & security: Specify and verify hardware that is durable, efficient, and secure.

● Field work: Install, commission, and troubleshoot measurement nodes and irrigation control setups on-site.

● Production & Supply chain: Streamline production process of datalogger and weatherstation.

Your skills:

● Autonomy & Self-Learning: able to take decisions, enjoys self-learning; comfortable in cross-functional/startup settings with daily cooperation and flexibility.

● Hardware & Programming: electric circuits; PCB design; IoT networks; embedded systems programming; Python and SQL knowledge is a plus.

Environment & Field Work: interest in environmental monitoring; willing and able to work outdoors on agricultural fields; analytical thinking and complex problem solving.
