We're looking for a well-organised, independent and detail-oriented Payroll Manager. Do you have a passion supporting employees, enjoy working in an international environment, and excel when every day brings something new?
What you'll do
- Manage the in-house processing of Swiss Payroll: timely, accurate and independent end-to-end payroll (Abacus)
- Quarterly payroll run for vacation accruals and other special runs/payments
- Act as payroll lead, coordinating payroll activities across multiple international locations with external payroll providers, providing relevant documents, ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to group standards
- Actively drive process improvement and automation initiatives, identifying opportunities to reduce manual effort, increase efficiency, and enhance payroll accuracy
- Work closely with external stakeholders such as insurance providers, pension funds, authorities and auditors
- Handling, registration and administration of family allowances within the scope of delegated case management
- Collaborate closely with HR Business Partners, Reward/HRIS and Finance teams to ensure seamless end-to-end processes
- Support month-end and year-end activities, including reconciliations, accruals, reporting, and statutory filings across jurisdictions
- Act as advisor for complex payroll topics, audits, global mobility, and employee queries, ensuring professional and timely resolution
- Assist with benefits related requests, renewals, and administration
- Support audits and internal controls, ensuring documentation is complete, processes are audit-ready, and compliance requirements are met globally
What you'll need
- Relevant professional certification or further education (e.g. Payroll Expert, HR Specialist certification and/or Social Insurance Specialist certification)
- Strong knowledge of international requirements in relations to Switzerland (e.g. cross-border transfer with equities and bonus payments)
- Extensive end-to-end payroll experience on Swiss Payroll and across multiple jurisdictions
- Demonstrated success improving processes, controls, and delivery models
- Solid experience coordinating international payrolls across multiple jurisdictions, working with external payroll providers in a complex, multi-entity environment
- Strong knowledge of international payroll compliance, including cross-border topics such as shadow payroll, tax equalisation, and multi-country reporting obligations
- Comfortable working in complex, fast-paced, and evolving environments
- Strong organizational skills with a detail-oriented and independent working style
- Excellent stakeholder management skills across multiple business areas
- Experience working across multiple countries or entities is highly advantageous
- Fluency in German and English
