Candidates are invited to apply for a 1 year PostDoc position at the Department of Fundamental Neurosciences (DNF) at UNIL. The postdoctoral project aims to characterize the diversity of neuronal autophagic vesicles in synapses using ultrastructural approaches, in particular a combination of classical electron microscopy and CryoEM/ET techniques with in vitro and in vivo samples.

Your responsibilities
The successful candidate will work on a scientific project using state-of-the-art Cryo-EM and Cryo-ET techniques to study neuronal autophagy. In addition, the candidate will have opportunities to expand a toolbox making use of leading-edge biochemistry and cell biology techniques for autophagy research. Lastly, the candidate will contribute to the training and mentoring of graduate students, the preparation and review of manuscripts, and grant applications.
Your qualifications
Highly committed, driven and with team spirit.
Ph.D. in life sciences, preferably in neuroscience.
Advanced knowledge of Cryo-EM, including sample preparation and analysis.
Basic knowledge in biochemistry, cell and molecular biology, neuroscience.
Fluency in oral and written English.
Desired qualifications
Experience with Cryo-EM is essential. Experience with stereotaxic surgeries using mouse model systems, and knowledge of neurophysiology are strong assets.
