Siemens Smart Infrastructure (SI) Buildings is transforming solution engineering across Building Automation and Fire Safety.

Today, solution engineering is often fragmented across sales, technical design, programming and other stages. Processes, tools, data flows, and local practices differ.

We are looking for a Senior Transformation Manager Solution Engineering to define the vision for solution engineering and drive the transformation toward a connected and AI-driven engineering model for SI Buildings.

Why this role matters

This is among the top priorities of our transformation in SI Buildings and hence a senior transformation manager role with top management mandate. The role will shape how solution engineering is done for Siemens’ direct business and for partners. It combines engineering depth, transformation leadership, digital and data thinking, and strong execution discipline.

Location: This position can be based in Zug, Switzerland, Chicago, USA, or another suitable location within the EU or UK, depending on business needs and local eligibility.

What you will do

• Design the future integrated and AI-driven engineering model incl. BOM creation, technical design, programming, and commissioning for direct channel and partners
• Drive the shift from fragmented, sequential workflows toward AI-driven and connected workflows, reusable engineering data, and human-in-the-loop quality gates
• Define the data model and digital thread required to connect sales, engineering, project execution, commissioning, documentation, installed base, and service
• Shape the target toolchain across the entire engineering lifecycle incl. prescription and planning tools, configuration and programming tools, external design tools, and others
• Drive alignment across Tech Units, Vertical Products, Global Execution, IT, operations and partner-facing teams in our Lead Countries toward the agreed target architecture, toolchain, and workflow
• Enforce adoption in main country operations teams through governance, KPI tracking, escalation, and close collaboration
• Build the transformation roadmap, business case, KPI framework, resource logic, governance model, and implementation plan
• Enable partners to engineer Siemens solutions faster, easier, and with lower effort, strengthening Siemens’ competitiveness in indirect channels

What you bring

• University degree in engineering, industrial engineering, automation, electrical engineering, computer science, information technology, or a similar field
• 10+ years of relevant experience in solution engineering, project engineering technical project delivery, service operations, or comparable environments
• Proven track record of driving large-scale transformations against hard KPIs, including productivity, quality, standardization, adoption, and operational performance
• Deep understanding of engineering workflows across design, programming, commissioning, project management, documentation, and service handover
• Experience with engineering tools, project execution tools, CRM / ERP interfaces, and data models
• Ability to translate a bold target vision into operating model, toolchain direction, data architecture logic, rollout roadmap, and measurable business impact
• Strong stakeholder leadership; ability to lead without direct line authority, challenge deviations, escalate blockers, and enforce implementation through governance
• Structured, assertive, and pragmatic leadership style — visionary, but execution-driven
• Fluent English required; German and additional languages are a plus
