Job Summary

We are looking for a Deburr & Finishing Operator to perform manual processes in the fabrication and finishing of products to specifications on a variety of materials, using manual finishing equipment.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

  • Under limited supervision set up and operates equipment such as buffers, grinders, and tumblers.
  • Perform SAP/ MES entry per router instructions.
  • Prepares jigs and special tooling as required by set-up documentation.
  • Reads and interprets planning data and blueprints or drawings necessary to complete assignments.
  • Deburrs, washes, and tumbles parts as well as completes any final cosmetic appearance to parts by following work instructions.
  • Participates in diagnosis of cosmetic problems as requested.
  • Uses micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring equipment to verify conformance of parts to specifications.
  • Will follow production schedule as provided.
  • Keeps workplace clean and organized.
  • Performs daily and/or weekly checks on equipment as required.
  • Regular attendance is an essential job function.
  • Will spend part of his/her time as a member of continual improvement teams undertaking projects and seeking ways to improve the quality of KSI’s products and services .

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge and ability to read and use precision measuring tools.
  • Working knowledge of math in the interpretation and execution of drawing requirements.
  • Knowledge of medical device quality system regulations and standards (eg, U.S. FDA Quality System Regulation 21CFR Part 820, ISO13485, ISO9001)

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of a high school education or equivalent ( appropriate work experience may be substituted for educational requirement).
  • 1 year machine shop experience required
