Join Our Team! Post-Doc Position Available
Are you passionate about making a difference in global health? Do you have a background in biomedical research? We, the Laboratory for Experimental Nephrology at the Department for BioMedical Research and the University Clinic of Nephrology and Hypertension at Bern University Hospital, University of Bern, Switzerland, are seeking a motivated and talented Post-Doc to join our team and contribute to cutting-edge research in the field of acute and chronic kidney disease.
Chronic kidney disease affects approximately one-tenth of the world's population, often without noticeable symptoms until later stages. Our research focuses on tackling this silent epidemic through three key areas:

  • Early Detection and Treatment: We aim to identify methods for rapidly detecting acute kidney disease and implementing effective interventions to halt its progression. Your role will involve exploring novel diagnostic tools and innovative treatment strategies.
  • Prevention of Chronicity: We are pioneering approaches to prevent the transition from acute to chronic kidney disease, or at least delay it significantly. This includes among others investigating the protective effects of specific proteins on renal cells.
  • Understanding Risk Factors: Our research also delves into the reasons why individuals born prematurely or with low birth weight are at higher risk of hypertension, diabetes, and chronic kidney disease later in life.

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking, translational research aimed at preserving kidney function and improving patient outcomes. We are committed to developing personalized treatment approaches tailored to the unique needs of both men and women.
