Job description:
Responsibilities include:
- Review existing test cases for the Findur trade management system and associated systems to identify areas for automation.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated test cases for functional, integration, and regression testing across the end-to-end trade lifecycle.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand trade processes and ensure comprehensive test coverage for scenarios such as trade capture, settlement, risk management, and reporting.
- Develop and maintain test automation frameworks that are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with industry best practices.
- Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to enable continuous testing.
- Monitor and analyze test results, identify defects, and collaborate with the team to resolve them.
- Document test plans, test cases, and test results, ensuring traceability to requirements.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to other team members on test automation practices.
- Contribute to the overall testing strategy and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

As the premier supplier to our international banking client in Basel, Swisslinx are looking for a Test Automation Engineer to join a business critical project to improve testing its Findur trade management system and its associated systems across the end-to-end trade lifecycle.
This is an initial 1-year contract with extension possible (up to max five years), with a start date by June 2026.
Joining an experienced project and business facing team, the Test Automation Engineer would enhance the team's testing capabilities for the Findur trade management system and its associated systems across the end-to-end trade lifecycle.
This includes ensuring the quality and reliability of processes such as trade capture, settlement, risk management, and reporting. The Test Automation Engineer will play a key role in reviewing existing test cases, identifying opportunities for automation, and implementing robust automated test solutions.
The successful candidate will work closely with software engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders from various departments to ensure that the systems meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and compliance.
This is a new role, there are some existing automation tools as well as new tools to be explored, we are looking for an experienced individual able to hit the ground running and drive the automation initiatives.
Requirements:
Required Skills:
- At least 5 years of experience in test automation, with hands-on expertise in designing and implementing automated test cases for complex systems.
- Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle (especially elements covered by Findur, such as Back Office processing), including trade capture, settlement, risk management, and reporting processes.
- Strong experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, or similar).
- Hands-on experience with scripting languages like Python, Java, or C#.
- Experience with API testing and tools like Postman or REST Assured.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) and integrating automated tests into pipelines.
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
- Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Fluency in English
Nice to Have:
- A university-level degree in information management, computer science, or a related field.
- Experience developing Gherkin based BDD tests
- Experience with the Findur trade management system or similar platforms.
- Hands-on experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling).
- Familiarity with containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with database testing and writing SQL queries.
- Knowledge of security testing practices and tools.
- Previous experience in financial transactions and operations

Please note: Interviews are conducted via video call (two stages), however the role is 100% based in Switzerland.
