Are you at ease with PL/SQL, do you enjoy writing interfaces, be in close contact with internal clients, testing the whole process from beginning to end, would you like to put your hands in the reporting? You will join the Business Computing (BC) group in the Finance and Administrative Processes (FAP) department, where 80+ talented international colleagues are responsible for delivering information systems for all of CERN's business functions. The product management-driven Business Computing Group is working for clients across the whole organization (HR, Finance, Planning, Safety, Security, Purchasing, Logistics, and Accelerator Operations). The type of products under the group's responsibility range from custom-made solutions for a few users to large and widely integrated systems with 15,000+ users. Hence, working for the BC group provides numerous perspectives for being in touch with different technologies and business areas.

As a Junior Business Application/ERP Support Specialist in Business Computing group, you will:

  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for an in-house built applications called "Job Management Tool (JMT)" and consultancy to business users with everyday issues in the form of support tickets or meetings;
  • Maintain reporting structures provided for JMT Jobs in Pentaho cubes; 
  • Maintain interfaces outside of Infor LN used by Infor LN Projects and Service orders;
  • Work closely with external firms and the business in the area of reporting in Power BI for Infor LN service orders;
  • Participate in validating of developments done by external companies in Infor LN service and project (and other) modules;
  • Do end-to-end testing that includes Infor LN project and service modules as well as surrounding applications. 

Your profile

Skills and/or knowledge

  • Experience in programming in PL/SQL;
  • Experience in working with SQL and queries in database systems; 
  • Experience with Pentaho cubes and Pentaho Analyser reports; 
  • Fluent in English. 

The following experiences/skills would be a plus:

  • Knowledge in ERP functional/technical area, especially Infor LN and InforOS; 
  •  Knowledge of Power BI and willingness to gain more knowledge; 
  • French language skills. 

Eligibility criteria:

  • You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
  • By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Software Engineering (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
  • You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
  • Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
  • Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.

Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.
