VIE Agent Capital Market BO - Banking operations processing - Luxembourg (country)

Responsibilities

The Back Office Markets department deals with a lot of Société Générale Business lines: Wealth Management, Global banking & financing, SG Luxembourg local trading desk, Treasury / ALM, Corporate banking, Leasing.

It is in charge of the Post trade processing (back-office processes, accounting, confirmation, payment and the related controls) for several products: FX, money market products, OTC (IRS, options, repos, structured products), listed derivatives.

There are as well other activities addressed, like the follow up of the treasury balances and management of all the nostri accounts (incl the processing of the coverage transfers) & Mark to market processing for the credit support annex (CSA) variation margin.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Ensure the proper recording and control of L/D, FX and call account operations (market leg and client leg)

• Enter and ensures the proper outcome of operations (compliance with cut offs, confirmation and monitoring of payments), monitoring of suspends

• Assist the FO in the cash management of the bank

• Participate in the continuous improvement of the service and contributes to projects for the implementation of new tools and processes (workshop, specifications, UAT, production release, etc.)

• Ensure the reconciliation of transactions/confirmations with counterparties (compliance with EMIR / MiFID confirmation deadlines)

• Handle complaints from internal and external customers

Profile required

PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:

• Graduate with a Master’s degree from a Business/Engineering School or University

• A previous experience in Finance / Banking would be appreciated

Language skills:

• Fluent in English

Technical, operational & soft skills:

• Good communication and presentation skills

• Proficient/Good command of MS Office

• Good knowledge of financial products, especially capital markets ones (FX, IRS,...)

• Knowledge of the banking processes, front to accounting / reporting / risks and the settlement delivery process

 

The VIE assignment in a nutshell

This VIE in Luxemburg is to begin as soon as possible, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 24 months.

In case a visa is necessary, please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information (including your financial indemnities), please see Mon VIE-VIA Business France.

We would like to draw your attention to the fact there that your VIE mission could potentially get postponed, depending on the evolution of the health crisis and subjects to the decision made by the Crisis and Support Centre of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE). In addition, the selected candidate will only be paid upon confirmation from Business France and arrival in the country of assignment.
