Precious Metals Salesperson

Our purpose – Opening up a world of opportunity – explains why we exist. Here at HSBC we use our unique expertise, capabilities, breadth and perspectives to open up new kinds of opportunity for our more than 40 million customers. We’re bringing together the people, ideas and capital that nurture progress and growth, helping to create a better world – for our customers, our people, our investors, our communities and the planet we all share.

HSBC's Precious Metals business is a leading market offering within Global Banking and Markets, providing comprehensive physical delivery, custody, bullion banking, financing, and hedging/trading services to Corporate, banking and Institutional clients. The role demands expertise in managing diverse client requirements, financial products and markets, and building strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, all of which are crucial to support and promote HSBC's market-leading bullion franchise.

As a key responsibility, the role demands the management of sales for precious metals products and the development and retention of client relationships across the US and LATAM region. The role holder will collaborate with local and regional sales teams to identify, establish, and nurture customer relationships. The role requires the ability to work with a wide range of clients, including central banks, reserve managers, hedge funds, asset managers, and corporate clients.

As our Precious Metals Salesperson  you will:

  • Provide coverage and solutions to the current clients of the precious metals desk ranging from spot trading, financing, derivatives and custody

  • Drive new business through close relationships with relationship managers within banking

  • Where appropriate, work with local non-precious metals salespeople to develop new leads and strengthen existing relationships

  • Control and direct the document negotiation process, particularly in the case of leasing or clearing account documentation

  • Help set objectives and targets, and reshape strategy to diversify across products, sites, and help develop new revenue streams

  • Maintain high standards for accountability and global standards, particularly with regards FCC

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $175,000.00 and $200,000.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

At HSBC, our overall goal is to provide a competitive Total Reward Package, with an appropriate mix of fixed pay, and variable pay, as part of an employee’s overall total compensation and benefits. Variable pay generally takes the form of discretionary, annual awards (sometimes referred to as a “bonus”). Additionally, HSBC offers a wide range of competitive and flexible benefits designed to help you improve your health and well-being, finances, and lifestyle.
