Group Head of Legal Operations - Group General Counsel Office 80-100%

This is a unique role to provide strategic partnership support to our Group General Counsel and liaise with the Legal Leadership Team to achieve business objectives, drive strategic transformation and further improve and develop the Legal Function.

What you will do

• Develop and implement Group Legal’s strategy by working alongside the Group General Counsel and peers to define a compelling ambition, supported by a clear strategic & financial plan
• Closely collaborate with the General Counsel’s leadership team to identify and implement transformation initiatives that support the Legal function’s growth, create value and increase efficiency
• Drive legal and cross-functional collaboration on key initiatives at a Group, Regional and/or Country level and ensure quality and consistency across the Legal Function annual objectives
• Determine and analyse issues, themes and risks to be addressed by the Legal Function and continue to develop the technical transformation of the Legal Function
• Review and evaluate customer and employee satisfaction surveys, industry benchmarks and other sources to inform future initiatives
• Drive the overall programme management activities and change initiatives for delivery of the Legal function’s strategic priorities, tracking timely execution and proactively resolving any issues arising
• Lead financial planning, budget and the talent agenda for the Group General Counsel
• Design, develop and deliver management reporting to the Group General Counsel and together with Communications, provide internal and external communications support to the Group General Counsel and the Legal Leadership Team
• Lead a team of project managers, financial, administrative and paralegal support

What you bring

• Law degree or Finance master, incl. strategic management consulting or in-house strategy background
• Excellent analytical, data and digital driven mindset with strong understanding of technological trends and transformation
• Significant experience, and proven ability to effectively engage & manage people from varying backgrounds & functions within a dispersed and matrixed organization
• Strong skillset with proven track record in (cross-functional) project management with significant business impact
• Ability to get things done through a range of influencing styles
• Open-minded and creative with the ability to think outside the box
• Pro-active person who doesn’t shy away from responsibility or difficult tasks
• Fluent English with excellent written and verbal communication and strong presentation skills. Other European languages would be an advantage.

Work location is Zurich.
