Manager, Participant Recruitment

The Manager, Participant Recruitment is responsible for identifying new and creative strategies to increase study participant population.  Oversee all pre-study participant screening and selection to ensure on-time sequencing of events in the areas of recruiting, admissions, physicals, outreach, and medical records.  Oversee study participant retention.

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for staff management in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; development and coaching of employees. 
  • Develop strategic plans for increasing study participant population and implement new and creative techniques to identify new participant populations to meet client/operational demands while enhancing our ability to respond to client needs.
  • Develop and oversee operational procedures for recruiting, admissions, outreach, medical records, retention, and physical screenings.
  • Analyze feasibility of study participant recruitment through research using internal and external contacts.
  • Gain thorough understanding of inclusion/exclusion clauses of each study to ensure proper SP recruitment, screening and admission
  • Ensure each study is recruited and started full.
  • Ensure staffing needs for physicals are met by coordination with Clinical Scheduler and Principal Investigator.
  • Budgeting and cost control responsibility for Recruiting Department.
  • Represent recruiting  team during client visits and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Ensure coordination of study dates with study teams and client services
  • Oversee, develop, and direct SP outreach program, including advertising.
  • Ensure studies are assigned to Admissions Specialists.
  • Make scheduling commitments to clients and ensure we lead the industry in our timelines.
  • Ensure scripts and call guides used by recruiters and admissions are written.
  • Ensure retention of Study Participants through review of surveys.
  • Develop and compile measureables for all areas of responsibility.
  • Evaluate procedures for efficiency and effectiveness in areas of responsibility.
  • Create or assist in creating SOPs for all areas of responsibility.


Knowledge/Skills/Education/Licenses
  • Bachelors Degree required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field preferred.
  • Min 2 years Supervisor experience preferred.
  • Experience in Marketing/Promotions/Sales preferred.
  • Flexible schedule for varying work hours
