Alpiq has a large expertise in the technical management of hydropower facilities and the development of new projects in Switzerland. Over the past few months, Alpiq has noted a steady increase in requests to evaluate international hydropower projects (particularly in Sweden, Finland, Spain, Italy and France), We are looking for an Internation Hydro Project Manager to work in our team "Project management and Innovation", he will evaluate, quantify, prioritise, develop and implement these installations. The establishment of an international hydro portfolio can also be achieved through M&A activities. This project manager with a technical background (engineer) must also be able to draw on Alpiq's extensive expertise in Switzerland and must work closely with the country asset managers. This role is to be based in Lausanne or Olten. 

Your Main Responsibilities 

  • Support the international development of hydro projects in close cooperation with the International Division
  • Participate or lead Swiss projects and support the SH-teams in Lausanne and Sion thanks to a good knowledge of the Swiss context (regulations, SIA standards, environmental legislation) 
  • Bring the expertise to evaluate the various opportunities (Project Risk and Opportunities analysis, Capex, Opex), (new project or M&A)
  • Manage the development of the selected hydropower projects
  • Implement internal portfolio, program and project management and reporting
  • Lead and perform technical due diligences for hydropower schemes at NBO and BO stage
  • Lead project implementation in planning, construction and commissioning phase
  • Support local project managers in drafting and managing Engineering and Construction contracts
  • Willing to travel frequently

Your profile 

  • You have a Master's degree in civil engineering 
  • 5+ years of experience in Hydropower project planning and construction
  • Practice of FIDIC contracts: white, yellow, red and silver
  • A proven track record in Risk, Opportunities and Stakeholders management
  • Good Energy Markets knowledge (EU and Switzerland)
  • Good negociation skills
  • Full work proficiency in English and French or German
