Senior S&T Business Analyst (M/F/D)

THE POSITION

As part of the S&T IT team you will be in a hybrid role as business analyst and project delivery lead (no budget responsibility), working closely with business stakeholder to deliver enhancements to our ETRM IT landscape (ETRM application, trading applications, pricing tools, etc.). You will support the growth of Varo by integrating new businesses and markets into the ETRM landscape and will report to business and IT stakeholder on the projects under your ownership.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with traders, risk manager and business control specialists to identify process improvements within the ETRM IT landscape

• Translate the improvements into project initiatives with benefit analysis, deliverables, estimated effort and delivery timelines

• Take over ownership of the delivery of improvements – from concept to Go-Live

• Create business requirements, solution specifications & test scenario documents

• Manage project stakeholder from IT, business (including C-Level executives) and external vendors. 

YOUR PROFILE

• Experience in a Lead BA role with delivery responsibility and team management competence

• Excellent understanding of Energy Markets with focus on oil, refined products trading OR Power & Renewables = transaction lifecycle, trading (pricing types, settlement types, units of measurement OR product types), risk management (PnL, MtM, Positions, Exposure), nominations management (different modes of transport OR power scheduling), controlling (mainly around reporting and reconciliation)

• Ability to take ownership of complex topics and to break them down in simple steps to successful delivery

• Excellent communication & presentation skills

• Very good understanding of a typical energy trading IT landscape - typical systems and data flows

• Good understanding of the day-to-day activities within a trading desk & the respective IT needs (connection Trading Application <>ETRM, decision making data and visualization, controlling processes & reconciliation at the end of the market day)
