This position reports to

R&D Team Lead

Your role and responsibilities

Simulate power electronic converters for a variety of power electronic applications
Designing, implementing, and testing converter prototypes in the lab
Lead and participate in power electronic converter design projects with full commitment
Interact and actively communicate with our business line partners

Qualifications for the role

  • Master’s (M.S., M.Sc., M.E.) with emphasis on power electronics converter design
  • Experience with implementation of the prototype converter(s) including complete design, building, and testing of the prototype
  • Candidate should be able to demonstrate using examples of built converter prototypes the rationale behind placement of components, considering insulation voltage, cooling, signal integrity and EMC. A tabletop setup is not acceptable
  • Experience with any standard PCB design software package.
  • Experience with using MATLAB, Python (NumPy) or similar numerical calculation tools
  • Experience with SPICE based simulation tools
  • Experience with function simulation tools, e.g. PLECS, Simulink etc.
  • Experience with use of the digital oscilloscope
  • Handson laboratory skills, a willingness to work independently and take initiative in designing, building, and testing converter prototypes
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written
  • Additionally, one or more of the following can be advantageous
  • Experience with design of magnetic components
  • Experience with other lab measurement equipment, e.g. spectrum analyzer, vector network analyzer, impedance analyzer, etc.
  • Experience in Electric fields/magnetic fields/fluid flow simulations
  • Experience in programing for power converter control
