Position Summary

The Bid Manager executes and supports Defence projects and sales initiatives with the guidance of the Capture Management Director.

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepares and manages any kind of capture management projects (i.e. solicited/unsolicited bids, RFQs, RFPs and public tenders)
  • Supports the definition and evaluation of bid strategies to Capture Management Director
  • Is responsible for the successful and timely execution of bid initiatives
  • Manages all sorts of bid activities and workflows including but not limited to internal & external stakeholder management, quotation activities, project reporting, bid writing, project logistics and admin
  • Actively contributes to the risk assessment process, financial modeling and scenario analysis in support of the involved stakeholders
  • Coordinates and supports the deal approval workflow and drive process towards deal execution in support of the Director Capture Management.
  • Prepares and lead discussions and negotiation with customer and/or external parties 
  • Responsible for the preparation of executive briefs, project summaries and other deliverables that clearly and concisely present complex issues and considerations to the Defence executive management.
  • Lead the development of program implementation plans and ensure effective transfer of information for execution of such plans. 
  • Actively engages in capture management process improvement and efficiency initiatives
  • Actively leverages market/competitive intelligence to improve the quality and competitiveness of bids
  • Actively support the business development and sales effort by sharing knowledge, relationships, and market intelligence.

Minimum Requirements

  • University degree in business administration, economics, engineering or similar. 
  • At least three years’ experience in a leading business development, strategic sales or project management function
  • Any project management diploma, training or certificate is of advantage
  • Aerospace or Defence industry experience and knowledge is of advantage
  • Solid experience in working in a matrix organization environment and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
