Since 2003, Clearlake has operated around a high-quality fleet of Tankers, Gas Carriers, and dry bulk vessels on a time-charter basis to accommodate Gunvor’s growing needs for ocean transportation across all major ocean routes, in addition to the needs of third-party business.
The Fuel Oil Desk Analyst is part of the Market Research & Analysis Team, based in Geneva. He/She is responsible for providing high quality insights on the gasoline markets. The role will report to the Group Head of Research & Analysis.
Main Responsibilities:
Improve and expand West of Suez markets Fuel Oil S&D balances per quality
Track FO flows and link them to the S&Ds
Participate actively to traders’ weekly team meeting by presenting latest updates on S&Ds
Address any request or question traders may have on the FO markets
Work with other oil analysts and traders to develop taylor-made analytical models
Contribute to identify trading opportunities
In cooperation with Data Engineers, automate data feed of S&Ds
Maintenance of existing files & data warehouse
Prepare various reports and analysis for publishing internally
Communicate clear findings to traders, other analysts and management
Profile:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in the oil trading sector in a similar position
Advanced university degree in Engineering, Oil Economics, Refining, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Quantitative Finance
Microsoft Office tools: very good Excel skills (VBA), python is a plus
Curious & proactive, rigorous & meticulous
Highly numerate
Strong team spirit
Fluent in English, both written and spoken, French is a plus
Good verbal and written presentation skill
