Climate Resilience Risk Engineer Consultant/Senior Consultant Level

In this role, you will conduct Climate Resilience assessments for ZRS customers, managing customer requests, engage in technical sales discussions, and organize and execute assessments. You will collaborate with other ZRS team members, including the global Climate Resilience team.

Serving as a technical expert supporting external customers, responsibilities include:

  • Conducting Natural Hazards and Climate Change site assessments (e.g., value and supply chain analyses, multi-location natural hazard analyses, catastrophe models, loss scenarios and estimates, data analysis).
  • Supporting customers in developing mitigation and adaptation strategies for natural hazards and climate risks.
  • Building and assessing relevant tools and processes, collaborating with internal Climate Resilience specialists.
  • Engaging in customer acquisition discussions around natural hazards and climate change.

This role will be filled at either the Consultant or Senior Consultant level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant’s experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.

Qualification for this role are as follows:

Consultant Level

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering or Climate Resilience area

OR

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area [Use Risk Engineering OR Insert the specific Risk Engineering area]

OR

  • Zurich Certified Apprentice, including an Associates degree and 3 or more years of experience in teh Risk Engineering area [Use Risk Engineering OR Insert the specific Risk Engineering area]

AND

  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Relevant experience in the assessment of risk, based on what is required by LOB specific competency standards

Preferred:

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of exposures and controls
  • Intermediate knowledge within industry segement

Senior Consultant Level

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering or Construction Field Operations area

OR

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering or Construction Field Operations area

AND

  • Experience working in a team environment.

Preferred:

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Advanced knowledge of exposures controls
  • Advanced knowledge within industry segment
  • Certification in area of specialty
