The Position

Global Product Strategy (GPS) drives Roche’s strategy and portfolio of products - from research through to patients. As a member of GPS, you will be part of a truly international group who collaborates with functions and affiliates worldwide to shape the future of medicine.

Ocrevus is a transformative medicine for the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis (MS). It is the first and only treatment approved for both Relapsing and Primary Progressive forms of MS. Roche continues with a bold and ambitious lifecycle plan for Ocrevus with the potential of bringing even more benefit to patients.

As Lifecycle Leader for Ocrevus, within the MS and Neuroimmunology Franchise, you are accountable for the Ocrevus molecule vision, strategy and key priorities, and serve as a connector and catalyst to drive realisation of this ambition. You will partner closely across the Roche Enterprise – in particular with Pharma Technical Operations, Clinical Development, Global Product Strategy, Medical Affairs, Partnering and Roche Diagnostics – to help identify and prioritize opportunities to advance and accelerate the Ocrevus lifecycle plan.

You will have the following key accountabilities:

  • Refining the molecule vision and strategy for Ocrevus, ensuring appropriate resourcing and talent flow to deliver against the molecule strategy, while always putting patient first, following the science and addressing customers needs

  • Ability to lead, inspire and align people towards a vision while building a culture of accountability, collaboration, diversity, inclusion and trust. Coaching and developing people

  • Acts from a whole system perspective, displaying an enterprise portfolio mindset and understands the big picture of how the organization’s mission fits in the marketplace

  • Acts with a sense of urgency and curiosity, takes smart risks; embodies an entrepreneurial growth mindset, balancing long term and short term outcomes

  • Catalyze and align global partners and affiliates, removing roadblocks, accelerating opportunities in accordance with the molecule strategy and making trade-off decisions while considering portfolio context to maximize impact

  • Remains composed in handling and communicating issues during crisis management for all activities associated with the molecule strategy while protecting Roche reputation and trust with different stakeholders

  • Contributing to or co-leading disease area strategies under the leadership of Franchise or Therapeutic Area heads

You will bring the following qualifications:

  • Scientific and commercial understanding of the Neuroscience space (in particular Multiple Sclerosis) with an established network of external stakeholders is preferred. Development and/or Lifecycle team experience preferred and in particular experience working with devices and Pharma Global Technical Operations. MBA, MD, PhD or other relevant Graduate or Postgraduate Degree is preferred

  • Outstanding VACC (Visionary, Architect, Catalyst and Coach) leadership skills: proven track record in building teams and ability to influence in a collaborative way within a cross functional environment as well as exceptional strategic orientation and agility: outstanding ability to develop long term vision and deep understanding of the global pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry to create robust and innovative business strategies

  • Demonstrable previous accomplishments should include developing and delivering molecule lifecycle plans and overseeing the execution of breakthrough development and/or commercial strategies that have led to transformative impact for patients, society and your organization

  • Proven abilities to work effectively in a complex, matrix environment, across numerous time zone and also extensive experience in launch planning and management, deep understanding of global health systems and access/reimbursement challenges, and product life-cycle planning and management

  • Proven track record for consistently meeting or exceeding quantitative targets, as well as qualitative goals, for large departments/teams in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related industry. Fluent written and verbal English
