Your Mission  

As a Product Owner, your mission is to lead the Firewall team to bring Open Systems Firewall Services to the next level. You will participate and engage in shaping the products' vision, actively drive cross-team collaboration, and build the bridge to connect Product Managers, development teams and Customer Success teams to drive innovation and ensure a smooth user experience. As part of the Mission Control team, you’ll share operational duties with your colleagues. 

 

As Product Owner of the Firewall Team, you will be responsible for the technical well-being of the Firewall Service. As a leader, you will not only take care of focus areas, priorities, and incidents, you will also foster your team's well-being, performance and ensuring their professional development.   

 

Your Responsibilities 

• Lead and manage a team of engineers, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to ensure team success and individual growth.


• Oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the firewall service.


• Serve as a point of contact for escalations and decision-making related to planning, operations, administration matters for your firewall service and team.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, operations, customer success and development teams, to define project requirements, prioritize tasks and ensure timely delivery.


• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the Firewall Team.


• Provide regular feedback to engineers on career development topics and conduct biannual review conversations setting SMART career development goals. 

 

Your Qualifications 

For this position, we are looking for individuals with a track record of excellent communication skills and an interest in supporting engineers in problem-solving and career development.

• Higher education (university) with a degree in Computer Science or a related field 


• Knowledge of network protocols, routing and firewall technologies


• Experience with Linux or UNIX-based operating systems


• 5+ years of work experience in a related field


• Proven track record in leading development projects in an agile environment  


• Fluency in English 

 

Bonus Skills 

• Stream-based malware scanning


• Container and cloud technologies


• Technical expertise in linux netfilter stack


• Scrum Master
