This internship position will support the global business working across key strategic areas including crisis and issues, media, policy and key disease areas such as Alzheimer’s and cardiovascular disease.

Reporting to a senior member of the Integrated Portfolio Communications team, this internship position will involve building a deeper understanding of the role of communications in supporting our business. You will have the opportunity to offer new ideas and contribute towards enhancing our reputation globally.

In this position, you will:

  • Participate in communications planning and tactical implementation

  • Develop engaging internal and external creative content for a variety of media, including social media and websites

  • Support key product launches

  • Support the media relations lead to deliver the global media relations strategy

  • Manage fortnightly calls to track crisis and media alignment across the business

  • Support the crisis and issues preparedness programme

  • Help deliver the global spokesperson academy programme and managing updates to the spokesperson database

  • Liaise with colleagues across the business on communication for priority business areas, such as Alzheimer's and CVD

  • Work alongside the policy and advocacy lead and intern to deliver communications that support our key policy work

  • Evaluate the success of communications activities and campaigns and make recommendations for future improvements

  • Support the team with administration and logistics for meetings and events

Who you are:

We are looking for a flexible, proactive and highly motivated individual with an inquisitive mind, who is always asking questions and thinking ahead. We seek a team player, someone who is highly collaborative and with excellent attention to detail.

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated (within the past 12 months) from a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Public Relations, Communications, or Journalism

  • A strong interest in copywriting with a focus on writing for media and digital channels

  • Aptitude for translating complicated topics into easy-to-understand stories

  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of organisational skills

  • Good time management skills and the ability to work to deadlines

  • A proactive and systematic team player who can demonstrate initiative and independence when required

  • An enthusiastic learner with interest in global health and diagnostics

  • Fluency in English (verbal and written); German a distinct advantage

The planned start date of the internship is a s soon as possible or upon availability. The duration of the internship is 6 months with a possibility to extend.
