Your Tasks

You will be responsible for setting up and monitoring all activities related to Project Controls in one or more engineering projects of different types and sizes.

You are responsible for setting up and implementing the tool landscape / specifications in project controls and reporting in coordination with the company's internal and project specifications.

In addition, the following tasks are an essential part of your area of responsibility:

  • Support clients with Capex control services
  • Support with budget preparation and cost breakdown in projects
  • Set up and monitor project progress (progress controlling / S-curves / forecasts) down to deliverable level and relevant KPIs
  • Prepare monthly reports in accordance with internal and project specifications
  • Analyze project data and communicate the results to stakeholders in accordance with the communication and escalation plan
  • Identify and evaluate risks in relation to the results of project control, including implementing defined measures in your area of responsibility
  • Manage and monitor project changes (change and variation management) incl. adjustments to budget and baselines
  • Communicate and collect documents and information from the project team and stakeholders (e.g. subcontractors / suppliers)
  • Contact person for internal projects and interface with other departments (administration / procurement / finance / QMS / etc.)
  • Monitor and comply with cash flow management in projects
  • Participate in project close-outs


Your Profile

You are a high-performing, persistent and team-orientated person with a commercial or finance education or degree. You already have a relevant experience in project controls, portfolio management or Capex cost controls. You also fulfil the following criteria:

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in project controls of small / medium or large projects (EPCM)
  • Good IT skills (MS Office including  Excel "advanced", Sharepoint, SAP)
  • Good knowledge of earned value analysis and data management
  • Customer focus
  • Strong communication skills
  • Fluent in French and English, German an advantage
  • Work at customer sites in south Switzerland (Romandy) is a must
  • Temporary willingness to travel to major projects in the European region an advantage

Traveling activity



The duration of our projects is usually between 6 and 24 months. Depending on the project and the project phase, the work location is mainly the project location at the customer, although mobile working from home is sometimes possible in consultation with the project management. At BakerHicks you have the opportunity to work with different customers and different technologies. You get to know new cities and are still always at home on weekends.
