Responsibilities:
Alignment calculation & engineering of 2-stroke combustion engines on ship installation with their direct coupled propulsion shaftlines as well as on test bed, analysis of measurement results.

  • Various kinds of vibration calculations & measurements
  • Investigation of alignment & vibration problems, work out solutions in cooperation with shipyards and owners as well as Design & Development and Product Engineering
  • Support shipyards and owners as well as Design & Development in alignment and vibration optimized design
  • Support licensees, shipyards and owners in alignment & vibration related topics
  • Collaboration with Chinese Stakeholders within the China State Shipbuilding Corporation Group (correspondance language in Chinese) 

Requirements:

  • Practical work experience with machine building, fitting and alignment
  • BSc Mechanical Engineering (HTL / FH / Ing. ETH or equivalent)
  • Theoretical knowledge of alignment, dynamics, mechanical systems and vibrations
  • Good knowledge in measurement equipment and sensors of advantage
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Working experience with combustion engines of advantage
  • Willing to travel and work abroad (approx. 30 days/year) 
  • Fluent in English and Chinese (written & oral) is a must, German appreciated
  • In-house technology training and professional development opportunities
