What we do

The Risk Manager, Health is primarily responsible for overseeing and coordinating Risk Management activities for Allianz Partners within the Health Line of Business. This includes co-ordination with other Risk Managers to ensure compliance with Allianz Partners’ Risk Management framework. The role also includes supporting and leading Allianz Partners Risk topics for the Health Line of Business across global locations as required.

The role will collaborate closely with first and second line of defense leaders across the company.

What you will do

  • Oversee, coordinate and lead Risk Management topics for Allianz Partners’ Health Line of Business, including topics across global locations as required.
  • Act as Single Point of Contact for Risk topics for Risk colleagues and Allianz Partners employees.
  • Be an integral part of the Risk Management team at Allianz Partners Health. Lead, participate and closely collaborate with other Allianz Partners Health Risk Managers and Risk colleagues on Risk topics and activities.
  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of the Health business and liaise closely with management to have a ‘finger on the pulse’.
  • Use your understanding of the business and business environment in the various markets in which the Health operates to ensure early identification of emerging risks and support mitigation of identified risks.
  • Lead key projects related to risk containment in coordination with local management and Health Risk colleagues.
  • Participate in the organisation, as well as lead and present topics in the Health Risk Committee and other meetings as required.
  • Provide Risk direction and challenge to the business, coordinate contributions and documentation.
  • Lead and participate in global Risk Centres of Competence.
  • Ensure the implementation and management of the Allianz Risk Framework (including: polices, standards, guidelines and rules).

Activities include:

  • Facilitate the Risk Management process and provision of Risk Management delivery support (this includes among others, the Top Risk Assessment and Internal Control Framework);
  • Coordinate, develop and maintain the risk governance arrangements, including governance and risk tolerance and appetite approach on existing and emerging risks;
  • Support the development of the Risk Management culture to enable the implementation and effective operation of Risk Management and Internal Controls;
  • Develop and ensure appropriate monitoring of identified key risks and progress toward implementing effective programs and controls;
  • Coordinate the effective implementation and maintaining of a network of Risk and Internal Control Coordinators as well as the provision of risk training to the wider business. Promote a positive Risk Culture within the business;
  • Ensure that the priority risks are brought to the attention of the Head of Risk, Health and that appropriate mitigation actions are initiated. Support the development of consistent reports for the relevant governance bodies;
  • Ensure that all Risk Management and Internal Control reports (formal regular updates and reports) are timely and accurate, contain up to date information and are tailored to the intended audience;
  • Actively participate in and promote, process improvement on all processes and tasks where you are involved.

What you will bring to the role

  • At least 3 years’ experience in Risk Management, Internal Control, Project Management or international support in the insurance or financial services sector.
  • Candidates with Solvency II / Basel II experience, or proficiency with a Risk specialist skill an advantage.

Required Education / Additional requirements

  • Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field or equivalent combination of work and education experience.
  • Ideally a Risk Management accreditation, Internal Control or Accounting qualification.
  • Detailed understanding and knowledge of best practices and trends in Risk Management and Internal Control.
  • Team player, excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a multi-cultural context. The ability to work with colleagues of all levels of seniority to ensure in-depth understanding of the business/business context, particularly in the wider global businesses, and early identification of risks.
  • Strong IT user skills, very good user knowledge of Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Fluency in English.
