INNOVATE EVERYDAY: 

Tandem Diabetes Care Switzerland is developing Sigi™, a next-generation insulin “patch pump” that will offer additional treatment options for people with diabetes. This pump is based on a patented microfluidics technology developed in-house over the past 6 years. You can find out more about Sigi here

A DAY IN THE LIFE: 

The Software Testing Lead will be responsible for overseeing the assessment of software products in accordance with software test plans and procedures, demonstrating expertise in both automation and manual testing. The Software Testing Lead will drive the development, expansion, and maintenance of sophisticated simulation, emulation, and job management environments tailored for our Pumps and Mobile applications. The Software Testing Lead will initiate, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, and procedures to optimize software testing processes, ensuring high-quality deliverables and project improvements in collaboration with matrixed project team leaders.

Working from Tandem Diabetes Care Switzerland’s office onsite in Switzerland, you’ll have to….

  • Play an active leadership role in the Software Testing team within the software department.
  • Coach and mentor Software Test engineers in understanding Software SoP, test procedures, automation concepts and best practices for medical device testing.
  • Organize and drive software testing projects following Scrum activities with strong focus on priorities, planning, backlog completion and deliverables quality.
  • Oversee hiring, training, performance management, engagement, and conflict resolution activities within the testing team.
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify suitable automation scenarios and define automation testing strategies for all new and legacy projects.
  • Review and evaluate automation test scripts, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement.
  • Lead the creation of robust automation environments to streamline the testing process, ensuring timely and efficient test execution.
  • Demonstrate expertise in test management tools and embedded software testing, contributing to the team's technical capabilities.
  • Drive the development and optimization of simulation and emulation tools, specifically designed for Pumps, Mobile applications.
  • Champion the integration of automation tools and environments to enable seamless E2E automated testing, bridging the gap between isolated testing modules.
  • Enforce strong software testing practices, concepts, and techniques across the software teams.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes.
  • Prepare project status reports including milestone dates, product backlog tasks and other aspects of the Design Control process.
  • Review final project documentation (including Design History Files) for content and accuracy.
  • May independently manage working interactions with external vendors, nearshore or Offshore activities and resources ensuring that deliverable and timelines are met.

  • Excellent understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices, and ability to adapt to evolving industry trends.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to scope, estimate time needed and track large scale development projects.
  • Skilled at defining and translating high-level requirements into software architecture, design and implementation.
  • Able to assert own ideas and persuade others through effectively consolidating, evaluating, and presenting relevant information.
  • Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP) preferred.

YOU'LL NEED:

  • Master’s degree in engineering or computer sciences, information Technology or related field.
  • Certification for Scrum activities or project management.
  • 10+ years’ experience in the field of software testing with expertise in automation, manual testing, test management tools, java scripting, automation framework and embedded software testing.
  • 5+ plus years’ experience in leadership or equivalent role preferred
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 62304
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485, ISO 14971, ISO 62366, and guidance on Cybersecurity and Data Protection is a plus.
