Host Family Coordinator – Job description

The Host Family Coordinator role at EF Toronto is for those who want to expand their skills in effective communication, flex their problem-solving abilities, strengthen their organizational skills and be a part of a team of diverse professionals. You will be working in EF Toronto’s fast-paced accommodation department. Your primary task would be to direct the placement of EF students to our host families. Using your skills, you will oversee ensuring that our students from around the world have an amazing host-family experience that is both engaging and culturally enriching.

The team is the heart of EF Toronto. While you will primarily be reporting to the Host Family Manager, expect to be engaged collaboratively with the rest of the housing team and other school departments.

As a Host Family Coordinator, you will have the chance to build strong relationships with host families through consistent call check-ins, events and building a trustful rapport. You will also have the flexibility to manage your own time and day-to-day tasks. With the support of the Host Family Manager, you will be given the tools to handle the variety of hurdles you may encounter as well as the room to develop your own approach as time progresses.

Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Host Family Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating host families in accordance with EF policy
• Overseeing the allocation of students to host families
• Liaising between different departments to handle student or host family complaints
• Customer care for Host Family phone calls and enquiries
• Collaborating with the rest of the housing team to meet housing targets and goals
• Occasional work off-site for promotional recruitment street actions, events, fairs and leafleting
• Providing professional and consistent support to host families and their respective students
• Track weekly recruitment statistics, with the Host Family Manager and Accommodations Manager
• Processes & maintains homestay provider records
