The Position

You will be part of the Data Sciences and Statistics department located in Basel. As strategic partners in drug development, we apply our drug development and statistical expertise to the design and analysis of clinical development plans, clinical studies, and non-clinical experiments.

Duration between 4 to 6 months depending on the project. Flexible start date.

Possible projects:

  • Prediction of clinical Time-to-Event endpoints using longitudinal imaging (e.g. MRI) and digital health technologies in multiple sclerosis.

  • Impact of using different estimand strategies to account for new-anti lymphoma treatment in pivotal lymphoma trials.

  • Sample size calculation and development of an associated R package for repeated or paired count data with applications to trials in haemophilia.

  • Multi-state models in ophthalmology.

You are an enrolled student at the MSc or PhD level in statistics or a related field (or you have completed your studies within the past twelve months) with a strong theoretical foundation, experience in applied statistics, and very good knowledge of programming in R. Successful applicants will demonstrate a keen interest to learn new tools and statistical methods, to experiment, and to complete the internship project within the allocated time. Prior experience in the field of statistics relevant to the project (e.g. dynamic prediction modelling, survival analysis, analysis of count data, or multi-state modelling) is a plus. Good communication skills in English are needed.

For Non-EU candidates, a mandatory letter and enrolment certificate are required.
