WinGD is looking for a

Manager Purchasing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the global strategic and operational purchasing team, coordinating and overseeing procurement activities, contract management, supplier negotiations, and inventory control.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive purchasing strategies that align with the company’s objectives, focusing on cost efficiency, quality, sustainability, and innovation.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, conducting regular reviews to ensure compliance with quality standards and contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with teams within and outside Supply Chain Management to understand material requirements, forecast demands, and ensure timely availability of resources.
  • Analyze market trends, assess risks, and adapt purchasing strategies to mitigate impacts on supply chain and production schedules.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the purchasing team, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance processes and systems.
  • Support supplier selection, evaluation, and performance metrics, fostering a competitive and diverse supplier base in collaboration with Supplier Development team.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to purchasing and procurement activities.
  • Develop and manage the purchasing budget, providing regular reports to senior management on cost-saving initiatives and purchasing performance metrics.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, with additional business degree (preferably focus on Supply Chain Management, or a related field)
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role preferably within the heavy machinery or a related industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective purchasing strategies and managing large-scale procurement operations.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective supplier relationships.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, leading multicultural international teams.
  • Proficient in ERP and procurement software, along with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
