Head Sommelier

The Head Sommelier will be responsible for:

Report to Director of F&B.

Fully responsible for the smooth operation of wine service of all outlets within the hotel.

Establish and maintain a competitive and relevant wine program in line with the culinary directions of the different restaurants/outlets.

Persistently maintain an exceptional high level of wine service and correct the unfulfilled elements if necessary.

Monitor the stock of wines by introducing a proper wine management system, whilst updating wine lists with correct spelling, vintages & prices.

Manage & create a culture of sustainability.

Provide professional development and training to the teams and lead the teams to achieve departmental goals and exceeding guests satisfaction.

Responsible for the procurement from negociant of wines for the hotels wine programs.

Support the Director of F&B with the marketing and promotion for the Restaurants and taking up special wine related projects.

What we are looking for:

Minimum 8 years’ experience as a Head Sommelier/Sommelier in Fine Dining Restaurants.

Experience in international 5 star luxury hotels is considered an advantage.

Extensive wine & beverage knowledge is required.

Creative and hands on.

Well organized and structured.

Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, open mind of different culture, friendly, approachable, sociable with strong sense of empathy.

Motivational with enthusiastic character with excellent listening skills.

Acquire good training and coaching skills.

Good command in French/English, knowledge in other languages is an advantage.
