The Position
The Role
Your Opportunities
Strategic Planning and Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive global end-to-end planning strategy aligned with the company’s overall objectives.
- Lead cross-functional teams to create and maintain integrated supply chain plans that drive business growth and operational efficiency.
Demand and Supply Planning:
- Oversee global demand forecasting, ensuring accuracy and alignment with market trends and sales strategies.
- Lead the global supply planning process, ensuring optimal inventory levels, capacity planning, and resource allocation.
Inventory Management:
- Develop and implement global inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels, reduce excess inventory, and minimize stockouts.
- Monitor and manage inventory across multiple locations and regions, ensuring alignment with demand forecasts and supply plans.
- Implement best practices in inventory control, including cycle counting, inventory accuracy, and obsolescence management.
- Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, and logistics teams to ensure timely replenishment and efficient use of inventory.
Integrated Business Planning (IBP):
- Drive the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process across all regions and functions, ensuring alignment of demand, supply, and financial plans.
- Facilitate executive decision-making through regular IBP reviews, ensuring alignment of strategic goals with operational execution.
Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement best practices in end-to-end planning and inventory management, driving continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.
- Lead the standardization and optimization of planning processes globally, leveraging data analytics and technology to enhance efficiency.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization, including sales, marketing, finance, operations, and supply chain, to ensure alignment and integration of planning and inventory management activities.
- Manage relationships with external partners, suppliers, and customers to optimize the end-to-end supply chain.
Risk Management and Compliance:
- Identify potential risks in the global supply chain and inventory management processes, developing mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies in planning and inventory activities.
Leadership and Team Development:
- Build and lead a high-performing global planning and inventory management team, providing guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the planning and inventory management functions.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of planning and inventory management processes.
- Provide regular reports and insights to senior leadership on planning and inventory performance, risks, and opportunities.
Technology and Systems Integration:
- Oversee the implementation and management of planning and inventory management tools and systems, ensuring seamless integration with other business processes.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and innovations in supply chain planning and inventory management, and assess their potential impact on the organization.
Cost Optimization and Budget Management:
- Drive cost optimization initiatives across the global supply chain and inventory management functions, balancing service levels with financial targets.
- Manage the budget for the planning and inventory management functions, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with strategic goals.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
- Additional certifications such as APICS CPIM, CSCP, or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in supply chain planning, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Proven track record in managing global supply chain functions, including demand and supply planning, inventory management, and business planning, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance.
- Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical product lifecycle, including R&D, clinical trials, regulatory approval processes, and commercialization.
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving change in a complex, matrixed organization.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate the complexities of a global pharmaceutical supply chain.
- Expertise in supply chain technologies and systems, including ERP, APS, and inventory management tools specific to the pharmaceutical industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- In-depth knowledge of global regulatory requirements and quality standards, including GMP, GDP, and regulatory reporting.
- A visionary leader with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement, particularly in a regulated environment.
- A strong commitment to patient safety, ethical practices, and compliance with industry standards.
- Ability to build and lead a diverse, high-performing team in a fast-paced, global organization.
