Engineering Project Management Internship (m/w/d) - for 3-6 months

The Position

Successful candidate will be assigned a variety of tasks relevant to the assigned function and/or special projects for the assigned function.The intent of the assignment is for the intern to practically apply academic or vocational studies/learning in a Roche setting, as well as learn more about the Roche organization, as future employment with Roche may be a possibility subject to job availability, candidate qualification and past performance.

Assignments vary but are typically to support the activities of regular employees, analyses and modeling, preparing materials for others, improving basic departmental business operations.

Global MSAT & Engineering (PTT) is responsible for ensuring that PT stays at the forefront of technology in our facilities and supports our robust processes & efficient operations.

Our focus is integrating product health, process health with equipment fit for purpose and facility readiness in support of the manufacturing network.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter deeply curious and energized by learning. You should be comfortable with working through ambiguity and are able to prioritize and manage multiple demands and commitments.

This role will collaborate with a cross functional team of leaders, SME’s from business functions within Global MSAT (Manufacturing Science & Technology) & Engineering and across the Roche / Pharma Technical Operations network.

The opportunity:

  • Lead or support the development of project reporting and dashboards in different software solutions (example tableau and or g suite)
  • Support the development and maintenance of estimating and benchmark information in Roche database
  • Review, evaluate and create a new metric reporting dashboard for implementation within Roche Global Engineering
  • Support the needs and requirements of the project services team supporting a new large investment at the Basel site
  • Creation of ad-hoc reporting to support the needs of the project services team
  • Other activities as assigned by line manager for the duration of the internship

Who you are

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor/ Master degree program at a university or finished your studies within the last 12 months ( preferred fields: Life Science/ Business/ Computer Science/ Engineering/ Mathematics/ Liberal Arts)
  • Leadership – building and/or guiding a team, project or equivalent is an advantage
  • Project management or program management experience is a plus
  • Proficiency with g suite, MS Office and other collaboration / productivity tools (tableau)
  • Cross-cultural experience
  • Ability to work with a global team, collaborate with engineers, business analysts and consultants from different cultures and locations
  • Proactive, inquisitive, and good communication skills
  • Ability to intake and synthesize information
  • Use quantitative and qualitative approaches to solve business problems
  • Exhibit a passion for high quality and strive for continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and Agile fundamentals a plus
  • Data visualization

Please note that due to regulations non-EU/EFTA citizens have to provide a certificate from the university stating that an industry internship is mandatory as part of the university training.

Preferred start date: July / August 2024
