This role directly supports the Starbucks C.A.F.E. Practices program, combining technical ability in data management via tech platforms, with stakeholder engagement skills to ensure business needs are met and reporting is of a high quality and timely. The role will require a high degree of flexibility and willingness to take on and learn new tasks as needed in a cross-functional and international business environment.

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversee supplier compliance with responsible sourcing program in direct sourced commodities and manage the related invoicing process, ensuring compliance for all terms of service.

  • Control, Monitor and Track annual purchasing data and approve payment of invoices.

  • Manage and drive post-assessment supplier engagement, in partnership with global sourcing team and leadership to deliver tangible performance improvements in all aspects of supplier sustainability KPIs.

  • Ensure daily alignment with suppliers and extract corresponding supplier information facts update and recap.

  • Support coffee trading team in facilitating visibility over supply chains volumes, statuses, and validities to assist their sourcing strategy and volume allocations.

  • Handle large volume of internal / external queries regarding program compliance, traceability, data input, payment approvals etc.

  • Guide 3rd party software providers to improve reliability and controls of information entered in the sustainability platform by contributing to the maintenance, development, and implementation of new functionalities, acting as liaison point with other relevant teams.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups and various global offices on sustainability and responsible sourcing efforts

  • Participate in annual external and internal audits related to sustainability and ethical sourcing programs.

  • Continued team work on developing and improving our responsible sourcing program.

  • Build rigorous, fact based, quantitative analysis to support business and functional leaders in translating strategies into actionable and quantitative plans to support the decision-making process.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, managing delivery within expectations and tolerances, addressing, and resolving issues and/or following escalation paths as necessary.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.


Basic Qualifications


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish are essential. Brazilian Portuguese a plus.

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive business experience in sourcing, supply chain management, administrative support, or another analytical/business function.

  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office tools (advanced command of Excel and PowerPoint, and general database management)

  • Strong attention to detail combined with demonstrated problem-solving and planning skills.  Flexibility to adjust to a changing workload to ensure timely results while respecting deadlines.

  • Project leadership skills: ability to manage competing priorities

  • High EQ, with an ability to translate business needs into relevant data points, align them with sustainability strategy, and integrate them into automated or manual reporting. Can act as an interlocutor between people and tech.

  • Experience in international and multi-cultural working environments. Work experience in developing countries is an advantage.

  • Experience in coffee or any other agricultural commodity preferred.

  • Ability to work well independently as well as part of a global team.  Fine interpersonal, networking and teamwork skills are essential.

  • Participate in multiple projects and working groups, seamlessly and effectively keeping all relevant internal and external stakeholders informed of progress on relevant workstreams.

  • Ability to identify inefficiencies and gaps in an analytical manner that generates fair and prompt resolution of problems and mitigate any potential risks.

  •  Promote the continuous improvement culture across the organization.

  • Familiar with auditing processes is preferred.

  • Willing to travel in general and specially to developing countries once a year.
