SENIOR PRODUCT ENGINEER

Job Overview

The Product Engineer will be responsible to execute sustaining engineering activities of existing product ranges of TE Portfolio. The Product Engineer will work with Global and TE partners for product extension/transfer/Migration/cost out projects. He is responsible for Managing engineering partner team deliverables. Engineer will also provide design solution on Backshell products for the plant related issues as well requalification of Backshell products. Engineer will work with Engineering services team and global team for the redesign of Backshell based on design rules and standards. Work on continuous improvement activities to improve the efficiency using TEOA Methodology and kaizens. Engineer provides all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and design documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible to execute Backshell Product engineering activities for TE ADM Product Portfolio.

• Working with global/regional cross functional team to provide engineering support on sustaining activities on daily basis.

• Produce & release detailed engineering drawings as per drawing standard and Specifications using CAD tool Creo.

• Perform Complete change process using ECR/ECN Process as per TE Standards and process.

• Collaborate with plant team on customer complaint resolution by providing technical solution on product design, form, fit and function.

• Responsible to manage all drawings, engineering documents in the database as per TE standards.

• Collaborate with cross functional team to identify VAVE, Process improvement projects to achieve departmental cost savings.

• To carry out any other reasonable tasks as may be requested from time to time assigned by the manager.

• To observe company defined compliance & regulations as per the Organization guidelines.

• Applying GD&T, Tolerance stack-up analysis, FMEA and hand calculations in designs

• Apply RCA Methodologies to resolve plant issues effectively to support plant.

• DFM & DFA consideration during redesign of the component & subsystem

• Provide periodic updates to Management on the progress of projects, Measure and track agreed metrics.

• Manage and deliver on execution of selected projects with the general execution guidelines, managing OTD, FTR, Productivity

• Must be flexible, with a high tolerance organizational complexity and ability to work with partners from within TE and outside.

• Must be able to give feedback regularly to our partners to accomplish project and departmental goals and objectives.

• Revise regularly existing methods and procedures to improve Key result metrics.

Desired Candidate Profile:

EDUCATION & CRITICAL EXPERIENCE

• B TECH in Mechanical engineering with Min 5+ years of experience in the relevant Industry preferably in Aerospace/Automotive/Medical Industry

COMPETENCIES (TECHNICAL & BEHAVIOURAL)

MUST HAVE

• Proficient with CAD software- Creo part Modelling, assembly and drafting.

• Excellent working Knowledge of 2D Drafting and drafting standards, review drawings

• Excellent Knowledge of PDM Link and Engineering Change management process.

• Basic Understanding of Tolerance Stack-up Analysis, FMEA, Design related calculations & GD&T

• Good Knowledge of DFM (Molding, Stamping, Plating and other Metal Forming processes)

• Working Knowledge of Product design preferably Electromechanical products, Aerospace domain

• Working Knowledge of Product Development Life Cycle

• Working Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and corrective action methodology

• Excellent Communication and Presentation skills to work with remote teams.

• Shop floor experience on machining and Turning manufacturing process will be added advantage.

• Very strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to prepare comprehensive reports.

• Candidate must be fluent in English and have expertise in using MS office tools.

• Candidate must be a self-starter with results driven positive attitude, high ethics, and track record of working successfully under pressure in a time constrained environment.

• Candidate should possess Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management.

PREFERABLE

• Preferred candidate should have advanced knowledge on Creo (Relations, Family table, Pro program)

• Preferred candidate should have Backshell design Knowledge.
