Laboratory Technician

The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced lab technician with strong skills in advanced analytics and lab organization. An ideal candidate will maintain our lab infrastructure, implement safe working practices, and analyze water samples to produce high-quality data. Your key responsibilities
- Plan, execute, evaluate, document the trace analysis on state-of-the-art equipment (i.e. LC-HRMS).
- Conduct routine physio-chemical analyses for quality control of water samples (COD, BOD, pH, Electrical conductivity, dissolved oxygen, total organic carbon, color, solids).
- Prepare analytical and method validation reports and develop standardized protocols.
- Operate, calibrate, care, and maintain analytical equipment.
- Organize and enforce the QHSE practices (safety guidelines, SOPs, protocols).
- Manage the handling of dangerous goods/chemicals and chemical inventory.
- Train new and current team members on laboratory best practices and analytical protocols.
What you need to bring to the role
- Lab technician training / diploma / BSc with a background in chemistry (i.e. Berufslehre, HF, ETH or similar).
- 3+ years professional experience as a laboratory technician/chemist with consumables management.
- Extensive experience in analytical procedures for trace analysis (LC-MS) and enrichment methods (SPE) of aqueous samples.
- 2+ years of demonstrated HSE (health, safety, environment) experience in the chemical/environmental industry, with a focus on dangerous goods management (‘Gefahrenstoffverantwortlicher’).
- Fluent in spoken and written English (fluency in German is a plus).
- Experience with lab management system (i.e. LIMS) and ISO 17025 procedures is a plus.
- Meticulous attention to details and focus on reliability in the workplace.
