The research laboratories of the Department of Immunology at UZH (Group of Prof. Onur Boyman) are interested in cytokines and their function in various fields of immunology including cancer immunotherapy, autoimmunity, immune tolerance, and infectious diseases. We are experienced in fundamental research as well as developing novel therapeutics from conceptualization to in vitro and in vivo characterization to clinical application.

Your responsibilities


You will gain proficiency in and operate high-end immunology techniques, such as spectral flow cytometry, protein expression and purification.
You will assist or independently perform in vivo and in vitro experiments, including work with primary cells and cell lines.
You will perform routine laboratory work.
You will be co-responsible for laboratory maintenance (e.g. repairs and maintenance for clinical trials) and for consumables (autoclaving materials, preparation of buffers, media, etc.).
You will help with the ordering and keeping track of the finances of the research laboratory (acceptance of deliveries, contact with suppliers, inventory).
You will contribute to collaborative and cooperative projects.

Your profile


Completed training as a laboratory technician or a bachelor's or master's degree in biology (or a similar field), or a comparable qualification.
Experience with work according to BSL-II guidelines
Knowledge of immunological methods is desirable.
Knowledge of methods of molecular biology (e.g., Western Blot, PCR, RT-PCR and ELISA)
Very good English skills, German skill desirable.
Completion of LTK module 1 (or a comparable FELASA certificate) is desirable, further training is advantageous.
The applicant should have a collaborative spirit, should be highly motivated, and dedicated to performing research of the highest quality.
