Context & Environment

In line with its goal of carbon neutrality by 2050, TotalEnergies is significantly strengthening its global position across the entire electricity value chain to become a major player as an integrated power producer in a growing and positively oriented market.

In line with this strategy and these objectives, in July 2023 TotalEnergies set up an Integrated Power (IP) Business Unit within the Gas, Renewable & Power Division. Its role is to define TotalEnergies' electricity strategy and to market TotalEnergies' renewable and flexible electricity production.

The role of Integrated Power is to:

  • Be the in-house expert on electricity markets and define Total Energies' electricity strategy;
  • Market renewable assets and optimise their value;
  • Develop and operate a portfolio of flexible electricity generation assets (combined-cycle gas power plants, hydroelectric power plants, battery electricity storage);
  • Supplying customers with electricity and energy services, supporting their decarbonisation strategies.
