Data Analysis and Performance, Specialist

Why we are recruiting:

The Global Programming Group (GPG) is the team responsible of the Forum’s institutional meetings, overseeing their strategy, architecture, design, programs and execution.

The Event Strategy and Engagement team supports GPG Leadership team’s strategic decisions through data-driven recommendations and leads on event-related engagement for both external and internal stakeholders.

We are hiring a Data Analysis and Performance, Specialist  who will report to the Head of Event Strategy and Engagement. The role is designed to boost the analytical capabilities of the team and support strategic decision-making for the GPG leadership through data analysis and visualization.

Reporting Lines and Interactions

This role will report into the Head of Event Strategy and Engagement within the Global Programming Group. The role will work closely with editorial, design, operational and technology units of the Global Programming Group. The successful candidate will also interact regularly with business intelligence and performance team, public sector operations team, IT team and other relevant teams.

Main responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain analytical tools to provide actionable insights on event-related KPIs

  • Identify areas for improvement and formulate strategic recommendations based on post-event or pre-event analysis

  • Develop compelling PowerPoint presentations that effectively and clearly communicate strategic insights and key takeaways to Forum’s leadership

  • Work closely with product owners to develop and maintain user-friendly Tableau dashboards

  • Collaborate with IT team and product owners to design and implement new intelligence tools and revamp the World Economic Forum's digital platforms for event engagement

The successful candidate will be assessed on:

  • Analytical skills: Ability to navigate large datasets and delve deeper into problems’ key components for effective solutions and recommendations,

  • Ownership: Accountable and proactive attitude in dealing with key internal stakeholders.

  • Clear communication style: Ability to adapt to technical and non-technical audiences, clearly articulate and synthesize complex problems to senior management,

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate detailed analysis in broader concepts that align with the Forum’s strategic directions

  • Collaboration: Ability to work and collaborate effectively across multiple functional teams and navigate the complexity of a matrix organization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, engineering or similar field and preferred master's degree in related field. 

  • 3+ relevant working experience (preferably in management consulting), with one year of professional experience in a data analytics

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoints and Word Strong data visualisation skills; experience with Tableau a plus Strong communication skills, both verbally and written.

  • Fluency in English

  • Effective interpersonal and negotiation skills

  • Proven track record of outstanding project management skills

  • Excellent team collaboration and relationship development skills, especially with cross-functional teams.

  • Proven experience thriving in a multicultural work setting that is highly collaborative, and fast-paced; flexibility and the ability to embrace ambiguity is a must.
