Centre Coordinator, Centre for the 4th Industrial Revolution

The World Economic Forum is growing and deepening its engagement with public and private institutions that are actively promoting the anticipation and accelerated inclusive and responsible adoption of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies in human-centred and society-serving ways. 

Why we are Recruiting 

The C4IR is the foremost platform for leaders to anticipate emerging technologies and promote responsible sectoral and industry transformation. It drives progress by linking national ownership and action with global network-based collaboration, learning and scaling via mainly government-hosted and -funded independent centres.  

The C4IR is organized in (1) thematic teams and sub-teams leading communities and initiatives in areas ranging from “AI and Machine Learning” to “Bioeconomy” to “Space Technology”, and (2) “Network and Partnerships Team” (NPT) which is responsible for engaging stakeholders across all thematics. Concretely, the objective of this team is (a) to engage stakeholders in mission-driven, multi-year, system-level initiatives, and (b) to enable national/thematic C4IR centres leverage such initiatives as well as the Forum’s communities, convening power, digital infrastructure, visibility and brand. 

This position will support C4IR leadership to drive seamless communication and coordination between and across all above teams to ensure high quality consistent value delivery to C4IR partners and stakeholders.  

Reporting Lines & Interactions 

The Centre Coordinator, C4IR reports to the Head of Strategic Impact, C4IR and will operate across multiple teams and geographies in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment. They will interact with and support all C4IR teams supporting thematic initiatives, 4IR centres in countries and communities such as Innovators. They will also engage in building and maintaining productive relationships across Forum Centres beyond C4IR, and other institutional teams such as digital success. Establishing productive relationships across the institution will be of utmost importance for succeeding in this role. 

Breakdown of main responsibilities: 

Team and Culture  

  • Manage C4IR document, information and communication management (WeLink, MS Teams Channels, Box Folders), and facilitate information flow in and across C4IR. 

  • Support onboarding of new colleagues and fellows   

Centre & Institutional Processes  

  • Support leadership in responding to institutional priorities and processes (e.g., OKRs, Knowledge Partner Partnerships). 

  • Support weekly team and leadership meetings (invitations, agendas, tracking documents, follow-up). 

  • Support organization of centre/team retreats and townhalls (from building agenda to coordinating logistics). 

Community 

  • Support development and engagement of C4IR partners (manage lists, collect data and track progress on relevant KPIs) 

  • Support briefing and onboarding of partners interested in the Centre, including Chief Digital Officers. 

Digital Success  

  • Act as liaison between Centre and Digital Success Team to ensure effective utilization of tools and platforms 

  • Collaborate with initiative teams to ensure data capture and management (e.g., Airtable, Excel, Salesforce) for effective process, project and community management 

  • Update and maintain team documents (e.g., events calendar, organizational charts, distribution lists)  

Preferred requirements and experience 

  • Broad intellectual background, with a university degree (Bachelor or higher), preferably in business administration, public administration, technology, or similar fields 

  • At least 3-4 years of experience in project management, team coordination, consulting or corporate affairs in a relevant business or not-for-profit organization, with experience in technology domains being an asset  

  • Exceptional organizational skills, process and project management skills, and high attention to detail; experience in data analytics and data-driven decision support being an asset 

  • Highly collaborative team player with excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills  

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Words, PowerPoint, Excel); familiarity with Salesforce is an advantage  

  • Demonstrated abilities to thrive in a demanding environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and deliver under pressure  

  • Responsible, independent and self-driven  

  • Excellent verbal and written language skills in English; a second language being an asset.
