Job Description

The Professional Education Program Manager supports professional education by developing and executing relevant international education programs, including timeline management, speaker recruitment, content development and approval, and success measurements of the education activity. This individual will develop slides, visual aids (including surgical videos), and case studies to support key education programs. The Professional Education Program Manager will serve as a coordination point between professional education, marketing, and sales ensuring flawless execution of customer-focused education events. This individual will also be involved in KOL development and speaker training as these are critical to our success.

 

In this position, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Liaise with relevant business and education stakeholders, ensuring requirements are accurately captured and updated across relevant teams (Professional Education, Marketing, and IT)
  • Manage and ensure alignment with regional medical communications teams with whom you will have regular interaction.
  • Manage the end-to-end strategic development of healthcare professionals’ (HCPs) education programs and execute on those programs in alignment with strategic imperatives.
  • Manage the purchasing and budgetary processes required to support education programming including sponsorship negotiation and payments to vendors and KOLs
  • Develop and manage educational print related publications with various publication partners.
  • Develop outlines and content for HCP education in alignment with strategic imperatives.
  • Manage the collection of presentations and other materials from speakers or departments ensuring materials are submitted by the designated deadlines to allow sufficient time for Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) Review
  • Manage the content review process to verify accuracy of data. Collaborate with marketing and medical affairs to confirm factual accuracy and on label claims.
  • Manage review of presentations and materials to ensure compliance with medical, legal, and regulatory guidelines. Submit materials to the content management system for MLR approval and implement required changes communicating the changes back to presenters.
  • Maintain and manage the detailed schedule of HCP meetings, including session times, speaker slots, breaks, and any special activities. Adjust the schedule as needed in response to any last-minute changes or requirements, ensuring smooth transitions between sessions and minimizing disruptions to the agenda.
  • Conduct post-event follow-ups with speakers and attendees to gather feedback on the event’s success and areas for improvement. Compile and report feedback to senior management and use this information to enhance future meetings.
  • In person support for 3-4 events annually throughout regions
  • Travel 20-30%

 

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience, advanced degree a plus
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of ophthalmic professional education experience
  • 1-2 years of meeting planning experience
  • Demonstrated skills in project management of professional education programs in a healthcare environment
  • Strong written and oral communications skills in English, other language desirable (German, Spanish, Chinese)
  • Ability to understand and create content related to refractive surgery to support surgeon and staff education
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadline constraints
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong and highly motivated team worker with the ability to work under pressure
