Join ABB High Power Rectifiers’ product management team to play a pivotal role in driving the strategic development of our portfolio in interaction with local and global teams.Our core offering are rectifier and power quality systems we provide according to the most challenging customer requirements, engineered to purpose, and based on extensive industry experience. Those systems are comprised of a range of carefully designed and selected components, with the ABB manufactured converters at their core. You will take the lead on our global converter portfolio, including the range from “low” (below 36kA @ 800 VDC in DB12 configuration) to “high” current rectifiers (up to 120kA @ 2000 VDC in DB12 configuration). You will spearhead initiatives to innovate and enhance our converter products and drive global convergence towards common platforms and finally have direct influence on operational efficiency, reliability, and sustainability outcomes for our customers' most critical applications.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead market intelligence activities to capture detailed insights into industry trends, customer requirements, and competitive landscape.
  • Collaborate with your direct colleagues, R&D and other stakeholders to translate cross industrial/process requirements into product specifications and innovative features.
  • Manage the lifecycle of our products from conceptualization to market launch and beyond.
  • Define business cases, product strategies and roadmaps in alignment with broader business objectives.
  • Monitor financial performance, including profitability and cost structures, and make strategic adjustments as needed.
  • Oversee the development of training programs and marketing materials to ensure effective product launches and sustained market penetration.

Your background

  • Solid technical background and minimum 3-5 years of work experience in power electronics field.
  • Experience in (reasonable) productization, platform synthesis, manufacturing, and cost optimization of converters a big advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions, ideally proven by experience in strategic roles.
  • Strong understanding of requirement identification and definition, product development as well as lifecycle management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to work effectively across teams and with external partners.
  • University degree in electrical engineering or related. Ph.D. is highly beneficial.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in German is beneficial but not required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally as required (up to 15%)
