Responsibilities

SG Zurich Branch (CIB) provides innovative financial solutions, advisory services and capital market products serving the needs of its corporate, institutional and private clients. Present in Switzerland since 1927 SGCIB Zurich Branch offers local and cross-border expertise providing a full range of financial services to its clients with a particular focus on securities, services to foreign funds, trade finance and cash management services.

      The Swiss Payments & Cash Management team (PCM) delivers and supports transactional banking products and services that are provided to our corporate customers including:

  • Bank account management (opening, closing, amendment)
  • Execution and settlement of domestic and international payment orders and collection services
  • Secure electronic channels for the exchange of balance, transaction information and payment orders
  • Maintain financing arrangements where we provide intraday and overnight facilities
  • Monitor domestic and international inter-company cash pooling and netting

Mission: 

As part of our team, your goal will be  to assist the Payment & Cash Management and Front Office sales teams (along with global bankers in relationship management activities focused on their portfolio of large corporate clients) to provide consistent, high quality client service and achieve high client satisfaction and loyalty. The position also contains a managerial dimension consisting in ensuring the daily management of the team’s activity.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Support and develop the Client Support team to ensure they have both the knowledge and skills required to perform their role
  • Work with the front office sales team to facilitate the delivery of products and services for Clients
  • Coordinate Client on-boarding, account opening and closure within the team
  • Supervise the implementation and support of both, domestic and international Cash Management products and services
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure that processes are correctly performed and completed
  • Interact with back office teams to ensure that all business activity is conducted and completed in accordance with regulation and policy
  • Develop a close relationship with Client throughout the pre, mid and post implementation stages
  • Ensure that ebanking contracting tasks are done accurately and timely
  • Ensure the daily management of the team’s activity (notably through the morning briefs) to guarantee a smooth production
  • Organize at least 2 touchpoints with each MO team-member (including trainees and contractors) to give feedback on performance and/or ask for performance improvement
  • Contribute to the annual appraisal exercise as co-evaluator

Profile required

Studies & experience:

  • Master degree in banking or corporate treasury fields
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within banking industry and/or in an International Business treasury department 

Language skills:

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Fluent in German (written and spoken) would be an advantage

Technical, operational & Soft skills:

  • Very good understanding of corporate/treasury cash management topics
  • Mastering of compliance risks
  • Very good understanding of corporate credit management (overdraft and intraday limit)
  • Capacity to cope with short deadlines
  • Ability to work following strict instructions, in a precise manner and within a specific timeframe
  • Proven ability to build and develop relationships with clients
  • Curiosity to handle a variety of tasks
  • Ambition to develop managerial skills
  • Good capacity to manage a production team
  • Sense of responsibility
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure with the same level of quality
  • Proactive team player with smooth social skills
