Profil der Bewerberin/des Bewerbers

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 10+ years Journeyman or Technician level or higher expertise in designated craft
  • Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment in the maintenance of an industrial plant.
  • Knowledge of large industrial equipment such as pumps, compressors, fans, exchangers, vessels, towers, drums and piping and their associated components.
  • Knowledge of safety hazards and appropriate precautions applicable to work assignments.
  • Ability to apply technical knowledge to determine equipment problems and appropriate solutions in swiftly developing job plans.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations involved in estimating, purchasing and drafting.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal form.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with operators, vendors, contractors, subordinates, peers and superiors.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of computers and related systems, especially SAP.
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply technical information from files, drawings, catalogs, reports and manuals.
  • On call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week on as needed basis
  • Ability to perform specific craftwork in emergency situations.
  • Weekend maintenance duty for all maintenance problems on weekends/holidays a minimum of 3 times per year
  • Stays with craft and craft supervisor when major problems of the craft are required to work overtime on a specifc or major job

Aktivitäten

  • Develop work plans for maintenance jobs with necessary information to allow efficient scheduling, assignment and safe execution of maintenance work
  • Create, use and maintain plant history and other technical files to include information in current job plans to anticipate and avoid job delays
  • Procure and stage materials and tools as needed to efficiently complete field execution of maintenance work
  • Incorporate scopes of work with contractual terms and conditions to develop maintenance plans
  • Stay familiar with HSE rules and regulations and incorporate safety, environmental and rescue into planned jobs
  • Make field inspections and determine appropriate job work scopes
  • Develop electronic schedules for larger routine, major maintenance and turnaround work
  • Provide feedback on job packages provided to identify areas of improvement and cost reduction
  • Planners should not accept status quo, but make suggestions for improvement
  • Provide drawings to craft as necessary for “replacement in kind” of equipment
  • Provide communication to all pertinent departments about ongoing and future work
  • Develop good working relationships with companies with whom we do business.
  • Oversee contract planners and direct their activities as well as ensure the quantity and quality of their work.

  • Should have good mechanical skills and have a good understanding of the plant systems and equipment. Must have a background of technician level (Journeyman), practical experience. Should have a thorough knowledge and appreciation of safety and environmental rules. Must be able to assess equipment problems correctly and develop appropriate solutions quickly. Must be able to anticipate job problems and delays and plan appropriate measures to avoid them. They must be able to determine appropriate skill levels of crafts to assign. Must be able to estimate reasonable time requirements for the execution of job plans. Must be top craft persons and/or engineers to command the respect of technicians who receive their plans.
  • Should also have good analytical skills in handling data and information. Must be able to read schematics, drawings and manuals. They must possess a high level of proficiency with computers. Must be able to file information and retrieve information from files to improve job plans. Must be able to put together the elements of planned work including work scopes, materials, tools, time and craft estimates and other requirements together into a coherent job plan. Must be able to put together work orders into proper schedule allocations. Should easily be able to handle the match involved in adding estimates, ordering materials and calculating angles for drafting.
  • Should have good communications and people skills. Help coordinate work involving more than one craft. Should be able to order materials and supplies. Should be able to communicate and maintain extremely effective working relationships with all levels of plant personnel. As necessary, must be prepared to handle repetitive type assignments such as filing.
  • Must possess leadership qualities, while also being capable of taking direction. Should be self-motivated and innovative in the way they approach their work. Must use their technical ability to effectively challenge directives and past practices with new ideas as necessary. Must follow the planning mission and be capable of leading other personnel out of the traditions of the past. Should be diplomatic, determined employees who are not easily swayed by others who may be resistant to depart from tradition as part of the problem-solving process.
