To strengthen our Team AI and the Technology Innovation department, we are looking for a NLP Engineer. The position of NLP Engineer is a full-time and permanent position based in our office in Basel, Switzerland.

As a NLP Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, experimenting and creating machine learning, statistics and cutting-edge mathematical algorithms for various applications with a focus on Natural Language Processing (NLP).

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Supporting the AI team to develop applications in the area of NLP and LLMs

• Developing, optimising and evaluating new Machine Learning and Statistical models

• Finding new approaches and algorithms that solve specific business problems

• Investigating and comparing research prototypes

Requirements

• Degree in computer science or data engineering certification.

• Knowledge of Python programming language.

• Strong understanding of artificial intelligence and big data.

• NLP Core Techniques: Tokenization, NER, LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, LLM fine-tuning PEFT.

• Proven track record of implementing NLP and AI products.

• Experience with Deep Learning development framework (Pytorch, TensorFlow, Hugging face).

• Experience with containerization technologies: Docker, Kubernetes is a plus.

• Experience in REST API development (e.g. Flask, FastAPI, Celery) is a plus.

• Experience with Pandas or Polars, Streamlit is a plus.

• Know how to use source control and practices on a common codebase (Git and version control, packaging, organizing code).

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.

• Proven ability to work independently and within a team.
